Broke Gurlos is a second-hand clothing shop established by 4 girls, who used to work for the same news organisation. We wish to sell clothes, as well as finding their stories and capturing the best looks of them. Besides selling clothes, we also publish blogs written by fashion lovers and write some on our own, to share female gazes and opinions on fashion. Social media engagement, editorial, photo shooting and styling are all done by our hands.

「今日開心，買件衫慶祝下。」又或者「今日唔開心，買件衫安慰下自己。」
也許你都曾經講過以上兩句話。換句話說，開心唔開心，衫要買，靚要扮，生活都係要過。
管他世事紛擾，我們堅持美麗。
四條囡，有人攝影，有人設計，有人寫字。一夜之間被失業，被失去喜歡的工作，變成 Broke gurlos。但不變的是，往日我們工作時會夾 dresscode，今天見面時繼續 stay stylish。
Winter may have come，儘管寒夜裡有多黑暗，生活依舊要保持儀式感，我們仍要保持漂亮。有人選擇為陽光灑落的家添置一束花，有人繼續拍下城市的日落。我們則打開衣櫥，拿起黑色貝雷帽，穿上白色長袖襯衣和藍色牛仔工人褲，加一副太陽眼鏡，好好扮靚。
因為衣服就如生活，黑白以外，還有更多待你配搭的色彩。
生活仍有很多可能，你的衣櫥也是。
賣二手衫，或許就是讓女孩們發掘更多色彩的過程 — 可能是埋葬在衣櫥底的 Shimmering Dress，或是朋友送的 Vintage 耳環，拍拍塵，說不定你會重新愛上。
正所謂「衣服像人，都有再愛一次的可能」。
What do we do

Instagram and Facebook are created and managed by the 4 girls, as well as the store website. I mainly cover the work of publishing products and blogs, creating reels on instagram and replying customers’ enquiries. Also, I’m inviting different lifestyle or clothing platforms to collaborate with us, as well as liaising with bloggers for their articles.

Apart from selling used clothes, we would like to record the interesting stories with their owners. Fashion expresses people’s feelings and lives, and we could certainly find joys from clothes and accessories. Every caption of products contain their stories and details, I mainly write stories of my clothes and blogs, and edit blogs written by fashion lovers.

We are our own photographers, regarding the skills learnt from our former workplace. Also, we are the models of our own clothes.

Before shooting, we would mix and match our used clothes and accessories for each photograph. There are various stylings according to our 4 different collections - Black & Gold, Casual Essentials, Swag To The Max and Mum’s Wardrobe.
MUM’S WARDROBE - 《40多歲的黑色半截裙》
裙的主人現在已為人母，生了一對仔女之後再穿不下這條她鍾愛的半截裙。母親花樣年華之時正值80年代，那時張曼玉、王祖賢是Fashion icon，她們身上的純色襯衣配搭著皺褶裙、碎花裙，加上一雙黑皮鞋，牽起一股復古風。
那陣時母親也被捲入熱潮裡，買入一埋五顏六色的裙，有格仔，有牛仔，也有薄紗（多得有點嚇人）。她享受著穿起時，裙擺會被風吹起的模樣。
她買裙時已一早想好：生個女兒將裙全給她，很划算。不過她算不到女兒生得像個男孩，喜歡穿褲。
近日與母親說起這堆裙，沒想到40多年後，街上的女孩又再次穿起她們，果然「Fashion always comes back」。
《Fashion Feeds Me》
近日在家追看新一季 Sex and The City，主角們由 30 歲演到 50 歲，4 人行變成 3 人行。20 年來，就算劇中生活有多不如意，她們每天依舊 remain stylish，踩著一雙 Christian Louboutin 、穿上 Ferragamo 裙或揹著Chanel 手袋，走上紐約街頭。
尤其是 Carrie Bradshaw。她是一名寫愛情與兩性關係的作家，試過男朋友 Mr. Big 悔婚，她沉澱數天後，穿上一襲彩色 Maxi dress，與姊妹們飛往墨西哥 Honeymoon。十多年後 Big 猝逝，她一身高貴黑色 Tulle dress，配搭珍珠頸鍊，為丈夫完成那個簡約且優雅的喪禮。
每一次，她還是會獨自回到那所舊公寓，裡面裝著20年來買的心頭好，還有 20 年的人生。她用力擁抱他們，再埋頭寫作。
20 年後，她再回到公寓，這次看著衣架上的長裙說：「我買的時候，你們還不是 Vintage Clothes」。
在另一個時空，每當我推開鐵閘和玻璃門，進入那個被打字聲和壞新聞塞滿的空間，總會有幾把 judgy voices 問我：「今晚約咗人？返工做咩著到咁靚？」
數個月來，無人再問起，但我偶爾還會想起那個問題。最後我想到出自 Carrie Bradshaw 口中的答案：「Fashion can feed me」。
